TOOLS FOR MEDITATION
300 sqm - 2010
After their AUM project for Torino World Design Capital, UdA continue their exploration of the architectural space as a catalyst for attaining mental awareness. The bench/ platform constructed in Tetrapan was concieved as a modular, public space element for bodily and mind rest through breathing techniques. This experience precludes or follows a visit to the mezzanine level, where the ordinary actions of walking, eating and listening become meditative practices through series of sensory dislocation instruments in which objects from daily life take on an active role
A lyrical yet profound representation accompanied by illustrations by Fabio Visintin
reminds us that there is only one time that is important: NOW!
